Summer Meadow Wedding Cake

This simple, understated cake replicated a previous design that the bride had seen on our blog, and fallen for. The focal point of the cake was a posy of hand made icing flowers, including roses, hydrangeas and freesias in pastel hues which were complimented by a hand piped "summer meadow" scene.

Pretty Pastels Rose Cascade Wedding Cake

The design of this cake was based on the original created by Peggy Porschen, and featured handmade icing roses, hydrangeas, ranunculas and blossoms in hues of ivory, pastel pink, and muted lilac. Each tier of the cake was accented with satin ribbon and vintage lace to compliment the lace detailing to the bridal gown. The icing flowers cascaded down the cake, culminating in a fresh floral base to give additional impact to the five tier design. The handmade icing roses complimented the Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Art Nouveau, styling at the venue which was bathed in rays of spring sunshine - wonderful weather for a fantastic family. The cake itself combined layers of light Victoria sponge with layers of vanilla buttercream and conserve and rich Belgian chocolate cake oozing with decadent chocolate ganache. Floral Spray

The design of this three tier cake juxtaposed traditional handmade floral sprays with the modern twist of a handmade bride and groom. The handmade floral sprays in hues that coordinated with the bridal bouquet and included ivory roses, yellow spray roses, hydrangeas and foliage adorned the sides of the cake and were accented with co-ordinating satin ribbon to each tier. The top tier featured mini versions of the bride and groom, handmade from icing, and included hand piped detailing to the dress and a Swarovski crystal tiara. The cake itself featured tiers of rich Belgian chocolate cake filled with layers of decadent Belgian chocolate ganache and luxurious, rich fruit cake.

Flowers and Pearls Wedding Cake

Another cake created for the recent Wedding Fayres we had the pleasure of attending. This four tier design in hues of cream featured a cascade of open roses in varying sizes and was accented with hand piped pearls to alternate tiers (inspired by Tracy James). This pretty, floral design would be perfect for a summer wedding or could just as easily create a striking focal point at an autumnal wedding with flowers in deep, rich colours replicating those of the bridal bouquet.

Delicate bouquet

The design for this single tier wedding cake was inspired by both the wedding invitations and the bridal bouquet. The bride wanted a delicate, dainty theme that reflected her taste for understated elegance. The hand piped embroidery detail to the circumference of the cake incorporated the pattern from the wedding stationery, entwined hearts and was accented with tiny handmade icing butterflies. The floral posy included handmade ivory roses, pale pink freesias and ivory lisianthas which perfectly complemented the beautiful setting of the Rectory in Crickhowell. The cake itself was a rich traditional fruit cake covered with ivory fondant.
