Keeping it in the family

This two tier cake included a special request in that it was for a double family celebration. With a few helpful suggestions regarding themes we were given carte blanche as to the overall finished design. To maintain cohesion between the two layers the cakes were covered in a delicate green coloured icing. The top tier, for the younger birthday boy, featured brightly coloured, handmade flowers, foliage and butterflies completed with hand-modelled figures of characters from his favourite TV programme. The bottom tier, to celebrate a 90th birthday, paid homage to the recipients career as a greengrocer and featured hand cut fruit and vegetables. In addition, a model of the older birthday boy with his trademark blue shop coat was included in an acrylic stand which separated the two tiers. The cake itself offered a layer of traditional Victoria sponge with raspberry conserve and vanilla buttercream filling and a layer of luscious lemon cake with zingy lemon curd and lemoncello buttercream filling.

Hey Mickey!

A hand-sculpted replica of everyone's favourite mouse. Bold and bright this cake was sure to bring a smile to the face of the birthday boy! The cake itself was a delicious chocolate cake oozing with yummy Belgian chocolate ganache.

Happy 1st Birthday!

This cake was created for a very special little boys' first birthday. The birthday boy being a big fan of Baby TV lent itself to designing a bright and whimsical cake with oodles of fun! Each of the tiers were adorned with hand-modelled figures from Baby TV and the top tier included a mini model of the birthday boy himself. The cake consisted of a layer of delicious vanilla sponge filled with lashings of strawberry jam and rich vanilla buttercream, and a layer of luscious lemon cake filled with zingy lemon curd and lemoncello cream.

Shop, shop, shop!

This cake was created for a confessed shopaholic! The birthday girl was renowned for her love of all things "material", especially shoes and bags.

Autumn Leaves

Beth and Chris were married in Buckland Hall set in the stunning scenery of the Welsh countryside. The couple decided on an autumnal colour palatte and wanted to incorporate flowers from the bridal bouquet, autumn leaves and delicate lace that embellished the bride's dress into the overall design. The completed three tier cake featured handpainted autumnal leaves that appeared to "dance in the breeze" to the top and bottom tiers, hand-piped embroidery that echoed that of the brides dress to the middle tier, and finished with a posy of deep red roses to the top tier. The imposing stone building, the mist hanging over the mountain hills and the venue decor all added to the gothic feel of the day. The cake consisted of three delicious layers of varying flavour and these were supplemented by a Vegan cake as the bride wanted to include all the guests in the cake ceremony.

Glen-yr-Afon Wedding Fayre - Boudoir Cupcakes

This Chanel inspired cake incorporates ribbon roses and accents of Boudoir chic in a pink, black and white colour palette. The cupcakes are held in black filigree cases which add an element of sophistication and glamour to the pretty feel of the pink handmade ribbon roses. The cupcakes are intermingled with individual mini cakes each hand decorated with a white frill and black ribbon to compliment the top tier.

Glen-yr-Afon Wedding Fayre - Gothic Roses

This three tier design, inspired by Gothic literature, incorporates dark red roses and hand piped embroidery. The second and third tiers were separated by a crystal stand adorned with cascading Swarovski pearls and diamantes that echoed the pearl detail embroidery to each of the three tiers.
